Ashley Steimer-King

Ashley Steimer-King is Senior Program Director of Girls Learn International (GLI) at the Feminist Majority Foundation, where she works alongside student leaders, faculty advisors, and program alumni to empower middle and high school students of all genders to take bold action for human rights, gender equality, and equitable education. With more than 165 school- and community-based clubs across 28 states and 15 countries, GLI trains and mobilizes thousands of young people ages 10–18.

Before joining GLI, Ashley worked with several NGOs in their United Nations advocacy offices, training middle and high school girls in international human rights education and advocacy. She holds an M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Roehampton and a B.F.A. from The Ohio State University. She also serves on The Pad Project Advisory Council and as a Regional Representative for Human Rights Educators, roles that reflect her ongoing commitment to creating spaces where young people can drive meaningful change in their communities.
